Does Your Clinic Need a Brand Positioning Workshop?
If clinic leaders disagree about who the organization serves, what alternatives patients compare or which difference is credible, Care Journey can facilitate a focused positioning decision. The workshop ends with a recorded position decision or a clearly stated evidence question that must be resolved before the decision can be made.
The workshop resolves a small set of consequential choices
| Decision | Evidence Brought Into the Room | Recorded Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Priority Audience | Actual service fit, patient questions and operating constraints | Audience in scope and audiences deliberately excluded |
| Relevant Alternatives | What the audience may do instead, including delay or another care path | Alternatives the position must be understood against |
| Credible Difference | Processes, access, expertise or experience the clinic can support | Chosen difference and proof conditions |
| Audience meaning | How a reasonable person may understand the position | Allowed meaning, risky implication and qualification |
| Decision Owner | Who may decide, advise, challenge or withhold approval | Decision owner and unresolved substantive authority |
| Next Output | What the approved position needs to become usable | Message framework, visual direction, research or evidence task |
The decision log also preserves rejected alternatives and why they were rejected. That history prevents the same unsupported claim from returning later under a new slogan.
Explore broadly, then converge only as far as evidence allows
- Define the positioning decision, its owner and what is outside the workshop.
- Collect current audience evidence, service realities, claims, alternatives and conflicting internal descriptions.
- Surface plausible audience–alternative–difference combinations without scoring them by seniority or taste.
- Stress-test each option against operational truth, evidence, audience understanding and excluded implications.
- Converge on one bounded position, or record the evidence gap that prevents a decision.
- Issue a decision log with rejected alternatives, proof conditions, unknowns and the owner of the next artifact.
(CDC's research-based communication criteria) can help test whether an eventual public explanation is clear to its audience. They do not prove that a commercial position is correct. Likewise, whole-impression review can expose risky implications but cannot replace the applicable UAE authority decision.
What This Covers and What Is Separate
- The workshop brings the decision owner, audience evidence, relevant alternatives, supported differences and unresolved questions into one recorded positioning discussion.
- The workshop records one positioning decision; new audience research, full identity design and rollout are separate.
(MOHAP's current service information) confirms that health-advertising review can apply across media and electronic channels and does not displace other requirements. A position decision is therefore an input to later claim and asset review, never publication authority by itself.
Questions that reveal whether a positioning meeting can decide anything
These questions test whether a clinic has a real position decision, the necessary participants and enough evidence to converge without manufacturing certainty.
It should decide—or explicitly leave unresolved—the priority audience, relevant alternatives, credible difference, proof conditions, excluded implications and next artifact owner. Exact agenda and participation are scoped privately.
Disagreement is not automatically failure. If the blocker is missing evidence or authority, the correct output is an explicit gap, consequence and owner rather than false consensus.
Not automatically. The workshop records the position decision. Translating it into reusable messages, visual direction or produced assets are separate capabilities unless an agreement explicitly includes them.
No. The real claim, asset, medium, advertiser and jurisdiction determine the applicable route. A positioning decision can inform later review but cannot replace it.

Resolve the Positioning Decision in the Room
Tell us where leaders currently describe the clinic’s audience or difference in conflicting ways. Care Journey will assess whether a bounded workshop can resolve the decision or whether more evidence is needed first.
