Our accessibility objective

We aim to design and maintain the website in a way that is broadly consistent with recognised accessibility good practice, using WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a reference target where reasonably practicable.

This is an improvement objective rather than a statement that every historical page, third-party integration or external document currently conforms to every WCAG success criterion.

Measures used on the website

• Semantic headings and landmark regions to support navigation and page structure.
• Keyboard-focusable links and controls with visible focus treatment.
• Responsive layouts designed to work across desktop, tablet and mobile widths.
• Text alternatives for meaningful images where the image contributes information.
• Colour and contrast review as part of page-quality checks.
• Accessible labels or names for interactive controls where practical.
• Reduced-motion behaviour for selected animation or counter effects where supported.
• Avoidance of unnecessary autoplay or interaction patterns that make content harder to control.

Known limitations

Some third-party services, legacy assets, externally hosted content, embedded interfaces or documents may not be fully controlled by Care Journey and may present accessibility limitations.

As the site is rebuilt and expanded, we continue to review responsive layout, contrast, heading hierarchy, form labelling, image text alternatives and keyboard behaviour.

Alternative access

If you cannot access information or complete an interaction on the website, contact us and describe the page, information or task you were trying to use. We will try to provide a reasonable alternative format or route where practical.
